Political Science and International Studies
The Department of Political Science and International Studies helps students develop the analytical and communication skills necessary to successfully compete in the job market or pursue graduate and professional programs.
Political Science
The study of politics helps students identify, analyze and evaluate critically significant aspects of the human condition.
Political Science majors take a series of foundation courses, such as Political Philosophy, along with a set of upper-division elective courses from the following subfields:
American Politics and Society, Law and Society, Political Philosophy, and International Politics and Policy.
With faculty’s help, you’ll acquire analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to successfully pursue your career and educational goals.
International Studies
International Studies majors explore the global dimensions of economics, politics, culture and the environment as they relate to a particular geographic area of study. The program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to work in multicultural settings both here or abroad.
Students work with their advisors to create a curricular plan that focuses on a specific region of the world. This approach often leads to a study abroad experience that helps them develop a richer perspective of their own culture.
As an International Studies major, you’ll develop the analytical and communication skills needed to successfully compete in the job market and pursue graduate and professional programs.
